Four decades
behind the kit
The storyIt started in a school parking lot. Robert and his father showed up one summer morning to sign him up for school, and the marching band was out rehearsing. It was the first time he'd ever seen a real drumline. He signed up on the spot and has been hooked ever since.
By senior year he'd formed a garage band, Myth, with fellow band kids, playing private parties, amusement parks, and any bar that would let them in, and learning from the older players on those same stages.
Now in his fourth decade of drumming, Robert has toured with the Velcro Pygmies, played with David Goldflies, a former Allman Brothers Band bassist, worked for Carnival Cruise Lines, and spent years on the other side of the board as a concert audio and lighting tech, club DJ, radio personality, club manager, and promoter.
He's also a Chauvet DJ featured artist, and he writes and records in his home studio, including "Everyone," an anthem for all the work bands put in so the crowd can have a great night.
